My wife took the pictures while I was driving. It's the first time I've ever seen a 1M in person. It was a young male chinese driver in his mid 20's, lucky guy!

My wife couldn't understand why I was so excited. I was like "take a damn picture before it's too late!"

Even better when you Walk out of a night club in Shanghai and run into one.
Oh and this:

Meanwhile, in some hot and crowded factory:
"maybe if we work hard enough, the boss can buy his son an Aventador! Hopefully he will find a way to keep it from getting dinged."
Mission successful.

Since hotels are relatively cheap in China, I stayed at the Ritz-Carlton. Some of the cars parked out front for the week I was there: F12, 458 spider, Continental GT, Vanquish, Gallardo, Quatroporte among others.

what I like most about the 1m is that nearly everyone that drives one is an enthusiast. People who just want the badge would rather get (lease) an M3 or M5.

That sounds pretty cool! How was the trip overall? I like to make jokes about countries without the remotest hint of socioeconomic equity, it's just so easy.

It was very worthwhile! If you get the chance, you need to go. I only know a few basic Mandarin phrases and i got by just fine. A good mix of business and pleasure. One of the most interesting parts was meeting with the head of Ferrari in China.
As a far as socioeconomic equity goes, China is no longer the cheap sweatshop of the East. Labor costs are rising fast so all the really nasty dirty labor is being moved to the less developed east Asian countries.

I agree with you. when I looked at the driver he didn't seem all "look at me I have a BMW" he just seemed to be enjoying the drive like a true enthusiast would, compared to most M3 douchbag drivers I see I would say he was a enthusiast.

this was in Spuce-Grove to be exact. This thing was a thing of absolute beauty.

I only saw it from a far and thought it was just a newer one with weird rims but then realized what it actually was! So puuuuuurdy.

another bonus for the 1m, because nearly all owners are enthusiasts they tend to take better care of them.

The ironic part is the club is known as M2 (Muse 2)
